Some of the best things happen far away from the noise. In the quiet of the forest, surrounded by animals, with a phone left switched off and the whole day ahead. That is exactly where we have just spent these past few weeks.
Modlimowo Forest Camp 2026 has come to a happy close, and our hearts are still full of it.
From the very first day of the first session on 28 June, participants were with us in Modlimowo, on 140 hectares of pure nature in the Karnice district, close to the Rewal coast. This is a place for people who, instead of loud resorts, choose the silence of the forest, contact with animals, and a few days of real disconnection from the digital noise.
Because Modlimowo Forest Camp is regeneration that saves lives. Not only for the people who came to slow down and breathe again, but for the animals whose future everyone here helped to build.
Over four sessions running from late June through July, participants had a place at the campsite, sanitary facilities with hot water, four plant-based meals a day, activities among the animals, workshops for children, a rope park, evening campfires, film nights, and development sessions and groups for adults. At the heart of the programme was a raw vegan kitchen, a digital detox, the closeness of the forest, and real help for animals.
And that help was the quiet engine of the whole thing.
Taking part in the volunteer format meant getting involved for the animals and the centre every single day: walks with the dogs, cleaning up around the animals, small repairs and building work, preparing meals, and all the other tasks that help Modlimowo grow. Nothing here was just for show. Every pair of hands left the place a little better than they found it.
You could see it in the animals too. Dogs who got their walks, their company, their calm. A place slowly turning into something safer and more permanent, one small job at a time. This is what it looks like when kindness stops being an idea and becomes something you can touch.
It was a magical place for families, children, and adults alike. Children aged 4 to 13 had workshops, movement activities, crafts, encounters with the animal world, and forest adventures. Adults could take part in a programme of calm, working with the body, voice, movement, and mindfulness. Different needs, one shared feeling: that here, resting and helping are the same thing.
The sessions that carried us through this summer:
🌲 Session I: 28 June to 5 July 2026
🌲 Session II: 5 July to 12 July 2026
🌲 Session III: 12 July to 19 July 2026
🌲 Session IV: 19 July to 26 July 2026
Every contribution that was made along the way helps us build the future of Modlimowo and a new, safe home for the animals in our care. That is the part that stays with us long after the campfires have gone out.
To everyone who came, who walked the dogs, who picked up a tool, who cooked, who sat by the fire, and who simply chose this quiet place over the noise: thank you. You did not only rest here. You helped save lives.
And this is only the beginning. Modlimowo is still growing, and so is the safe home we are building for our animals. We will be back, we will keep building, and we will never stop. Because a place like this, made by people with heart, is proof of just how much good we can still do for animals and for our planet.
See you in the forest again. ❤️🌲
