Especially in recent years, Centaurus has worked more and more often outside Poland, in many countries of the European Union, but also far beyond its borders. Over time it became clear to us that this work could not stay a matter of single trips or one-off actions. So we built the Animals Without Borders project, which grew from a very simple belief. An animal has no passport, no nationality, and belongs to no single country. Suffering looks the same no matter which side of a border it happens on. And there are places where animals suffer even more, because there are no organisations, no people, no money, no treatment, and no ordinary chance for anyone to even notice them.
That is exactly why we want to reach the places where help is smallest.
Behind that reach stand our coordinators. The people who find the local activists, build the trust, hold the network together across countries and time zones, and decide which call cannot wait. They are the ones who turn a distant emergency into a real rescue on the ground. They spend hours on messages, phone calls, and difficult decisions, so that help does not stop at the edge of a map. This is quiet, demanding, everyday work, and it is what makes every point on our map possible.
We want to keep developing new actions, building cooperation with local people and organisations, supporting treatment, rescues, adoptions, and the creation of places where animals can truly get a second chance. Every new point on the map means something more to us than another country. It means another animal someone reached in time. Another dog taken off the street. A horse saved from death. A cat that finally got treatment. An animal that, for the first time in its life, walked into a safe home.
And you can see it in the animals themselves.
A dog that had given up, now lifting its head at the sound of a friendly voice. A horse that once stood broken and exhausted, now grazing calmly in a field of its own. A cat that had never known a gentle hand, learning that it can trust again. These are not small victories. For that one animal, it is the whole world changing.
Over the years, and looking more broadly at all our forms of help, we have changed the lives of thousands, and in truth tens of thousands, of animals outside Poland. Some were rescued directly. Others received treatment, food, care, or a new home. Others simply got a chance that no one had ever given them before.
That is what Animals Without Borders is about. Not stopping our help where the map of our country ends. Placing new points on the map of the world and reaching further and further, into places where sometimes just one more organisation being present is enough to send someone’s life in a completely different direction.
None of this would be possible without you. Every point on that map, every animal reached in time, carries your support beside the people who made it happen.
Because animals know no borders. And neither should our help. We have seen, again and again, how much can change when good people refuse to look away. So we will keep going, keep reaching further, and keep placing new points on the map. As long as there is one more animal waiting somewhere for someone to arrive, we will be there. And we will never stop. ❤️
